Brodus Flynn Burrage, age 85 of 48090 Highway 52 N., Misenheimer, passed away on December 08, 2009 at his home. Born in Stanly County, NC, December 07, 1924, he was the son of the late Brodus Flynn Burrage and Beulah Mae Culp Burrage. He is survived by his wife, Betty Cornelia Yelton Burrage of the home; son Michael Flynn Burrage and wife Debby; daughter Marsha Safrit and husband Chris and grandchildren; Ahren Flynn Burrage and Justin Michael Burrage. Four great grandchildren also survive. He attended Richfield School and was a 1948 graduate of Pfeiffer Junior College. He was a salesman for Dixie Bearings in Charlotte. After retiring, he worked for the Richfield Post Office for 19 years. A life long member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, he was the last lifetime member of the Talbert-Wagoner VFW Post of Richfield. He served in the US Army Air Corps in the Western Pacific Theatre during WWII. He also enjoyed hunting and gardening. The family will meet at the home. The family will receive friends Friday, December 11 from 10 to 11 AM at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow the visitation at the church at 11 AM. Pastor Cathy Davis will officiate and the burial will be at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Misenheimer. Military honors will be conducted by Stanly County DAV, Chapter 12. Memorials may be made to Wesley Chapel UMC Building Fund.
