Bruce Almond

Bruce Gene Almond, 70, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at his home surrounded by family.

Bruce was born November 24, 1948 in Albemarle.  He was the son of the late Melvin Gene Almond and Jeanette Davis Almond.

Bruce was a 1967 graduate of West Stanly High School, where he met his future wife, Diane Love.  Bruce enjoyed driving a truck across the country with Diane.  He was the owner of Almond's Trucking before his retirement in 2011.  Bruce was a loving husband, father and PawPaw.  He had a deep love for his family and was loved by many.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Diane Love Almond; two daughters, Amanda Almond Arey and husband, Doug, and Angela Almond Morrison and husband, Matt, all of Albemarle; four grandchildren, Ashley Arey Smith, Landon Arey, Ryan Morrison and Caleb Morrison; six great-grandchildren, Henry Smith, Titus Smith, Jayden Arey, Emma Arey, Eli Morrison, and Riley Morrison; three sisters, Denise Crosby of Oakboro, Terry Peck of Albemarle, and Tracy Gaddy of Albemarle.

Visitation will be Monday, February 18, 2019 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 17236 Frog Pond Rd, Oakboro.
