Bruce Mills Ranson

Bruce "Buck" Mills Ranson, 99, of Kannapolis, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023.

Buck was born August 6, 1924 in Huntersville, North Carolina to the late Bruce McLaughlin Ranson and the late Ellen Ranson. 

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ranson (of 50 years), daughter, Jean Ranson Ramsey, brother, Joe Wallace Ranson, sister, Sarah Eunice Ranson, sister, Lois Ellen Ranson, sister, Catherine Lee Clay, and sister, Esther Burgess.

Buck was a World War II Veteran serving in the US Army 3rd Division, from March 1943 to December 1945. 

The family will receive friends from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm, Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Thursday at 12:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, and officiated by Reverend Don Burleyson. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery in Kannapolis, located at Hwy. 29N at I85, Exit 58, Concord.

Survivors include son, James Wallace Ranson, and wife Lona, of Concord, NC, son, Bruce Allen Ranson of Kannapolis, NC, son, William Phillip Ranson, and wife Rhonda of London, KY, grandchildren: Janette Marie Ranson (Andy), Joy Ellen Ranson (Darrell), James William Ranson, Heather Ranson Prewitt (Zac), William Travis Ranson (Christona), great grandchildren: Tyler Mae Ranson, Chancler Bruce Ranson, Savannah Narie Ranson, Patrick James Barber, Grace Sawyer, Rylee Rae Prewitt, William Maddox Ranson, and one great great- grandchild, William Bruce Ranson.
