Buddy Yates

  Buddy "Bud" Boyd Yates, 87 years of age, of Concord, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Bud was born September 6, 1928 in Cabarrus County to the late Julius Lewellen Yates and the late Cora Bell Carter Yates. He was also preceded in death by a son, Buddy Darrell Yates.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Friday, May 6, 2016 at Royal Oaks Baptist Church in Kannapolis. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm at Royal Oaks Baptist Church which will be officiated by his son, Rev. Tim Yates.

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Ruth Irene Blackwelder Yates of Concord; one daughter, Gail (James) Karriker of Salisbury; three sons, Steve Yates of Salisbury, Tim (Susie)Yates, and Buddy Wade (Tink) of Concord; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as two great-great-grandchildren.
