Callie Austin

Callie Louvine "Beanie" Austin, 88 years of age, of New London, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014.

Beanie was born December 1, 1925 in Stanly County to the late Walter Lee Austin and the late Nellie Mae Austin. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Coleman Austin, and four brothers.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Christian Herring will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 3, 2014 in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main Street, Albemarle, NC.

She is survived by daughters, Cynthia Lord (James) of New London and Cheryl Hicks (Joe) of Wingate; sons, Eddie Austin (Camille) and Stephen Austin (Ann) of Albemarle; sister, Ruby Napier of New London; grandchildren, Jenny Bellini, Kim Mahaffey, Sarah Blue, John, Michael, Brandon and Hunter Austin; and seven great-grandchildren.

She will be remembered by many for her unselfish devotion to friends and family.
