Calvin Burnette Honeycutt, 73, of Richfield, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at his residence in Richfield.
Calvin was born June 1, 1948 in North Carolina to the late Fred Burnette Honeycutt and the late Bertha Mae Honeycutt.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Ann Neal; brother-in-law Frank W. Neal; and nephew Allen Ray Webb
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. A celebration of Calvin's life will be on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11am located at Richfield Baptist Church officiated by Chaplain Joe McGugan. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery.
Calvin was a loving husband and brother. His pet cockatoo "Kid" was the light of his life and that bird thought the world of him. Calvin liked car shows and was known as the "community watch" because he enjoyed sitting on his front porch, keeping up with the neighborhood. He also enjoyed going to the mountains, especially Maggie Valley for the car shows, various shops, and an ice cream shop that sold the best banana splits. Calvin was also know for his "California Raisins" car, and was nicknamed the Raisin Man.
Survivors include wife, Mary Honeycutt of Richfield, NC; brother, Roger D (Joyce) Honeycutt, Sr. of Concord; Stepson, Alan Ross Motley Jr. of Concord and Step daughter Mary Ann Motley Taylor of Concord, and six beloved grandchildren and two nephews, Steve Marvin Honeycutt of Concord and Roger Dale Honeycutt Jr. of Concord.
