Cameron Lowder

Cameron Loutrelle Lowder, 88, of 810 North 11th Street Albemarle passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. Born on August 30, 1922 in Rowan County to the late Wren Galloway and Vina Lemmons Lowder. Mr. Lowder was a US Air Force veteran, serving in Europe during WWII, and was in Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Expeditionary Forces. He was Personel Director for American & Efird, and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. The family meeting place will at his home. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Lefler Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 2 PM, with Mark Weekly officiating. Burial will follow at Salem United Methodist Church. Graveside Military rites will be performed by Stanly County DAV Chapter 12. Survived by: wife of 65 years, Irene Peggy Woodford Lowder of the home; daughters, Kay Lowder of Albemarle and Susan Moore and husband Dan of Greensboro; brother, Lavonne Lowder of Albemarle; sister, Vina Ruth Simpson also of Albemarle; and granddaughter, Meredith Moore.
