Campbell Craig Hagler, Jr., 88, of Concord, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Presbyterian Hopspital in Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 7 until 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Rocky Ridge United Methodist Church 1428 Old Charlotte Road Concord at 2 pm following a 30 min. state on Saturday, August 18th at 2 pm, officiated by the Rev. Tamara Wensil and Rodney Quesenberry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times the family will meet at the home. Craig was born on June 29, 1924, to the late Campbell Craig Hagler, Sr. and Zula Elizabeth Buff Hagler. Mr. Hagler was a Cabarrus native, and a fourth generation farmer in the Rocky River community with agricultural interests in Cabarrus and surrounding counties. He was a lifelong member of Rocky Ridge United Methodist Church, where he has served as a trustee, a member of the Administrative Board, and had served as head usher. He has also served consecutive terms on both the Cabarrus County Farmer’s Home Administration (FHA) and on the Board of Directors of the Jackson Park Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Gray Hagler of the home; sons, Campbell Craig Hagler, III and wife Paulette of Concord; Billy Gray Hagler of Concord; Timothy Buff Hagler and wife Nancy of Harrisburg; daughter, Jenny Hagler Knight and husband Sam of Concord; sister, Marie Hagler Pless of Rockwell; eight grandchildren; Brent Matthew Hagler, Gray Chandler Hagler Moore and husband Rich Moore, Justin Beaty Hagler, Samantha McNeely Hagler, Hillary Buff Hagler, Natalie Betsy-Grace Hagler, Emily Joy Hagler and Virginia Louise Knight.
