Carl Almond

Carl William Almond, 82, of 217 Lions Club Drive, Locust, NC passed away on April 8, 2011 at his home. The family will receive friends at Bethel Baptist Church on Sunday, April 10 from 2-4 PM. The funeral service will be held on 4 PM in the church sanctuary, with the Rev. Charlie Littlejohn officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Mr. Almond was born in Stanly County on April 6, 1929 to the late Bill Arnold and Effie Pearl Almond. He was owner and partner in Almond Construction. Mr. Almond is survived by his wife, Sarah Almond of the home; two sons, Gene Almond and wife, Cheryle, Harold Almond and wife, Maryanne, both of Locust; three daughters, Diane Almond, Linda Caudle and husband, Cecil, both of Locust, Angie Teeter and husband, Chad of Oakboro; two brothers, Rayvon and Clinton Almond, both of Locust; two sisters, Lucille Eudy of Locust, and Margaret Troutman of Mt Pleasant; 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
