Carl Burris

Carl Burris, 90 of Concord, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012, at Tucker Hospice in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Carolina Memorial Park following visitation at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Ray Rippy will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. At other times the family will meet in the children’s homes. Carl was born on October 20, 1921 in Arkansas to the late William Ferrie and Dora Vertie Burks Burris. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edna Louise Ritchie Burris; and a son, William Archie Burris. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Albin and Carolyn Owens both of Concord, and Dianne Furr of Albemarle. Mr. Burris, the last of 13 children, liked fishing, growing roses and raising chickens. He kept everyone well supplied with eggs, fish and roses. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving Burris family.
