Carl Childress, Jr

Carl Childress, Jr., 73 years of age, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Universal Healthcare. Carl was born July 14, 1940 in Honolulu, Hawaii to the late Carl Childress, Sr. and the late Vivian Childress. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The graveside service will be at 9 am on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Roberta Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Buck Canup. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Shelby Jean Dulin Measmer Childress of Concord; stepchildren, Jennifer Measmer Hill and husband Adam of Concord, Bobby Lee Measmer, Sr. and wife Sharon of Concord, Rex Measmer and wife Molly of Concord, Billie Measmer Barrier and husband Darrell of Concord; sister, Geraldine Childress Plott and husband Larry of Concord; one niece; two nephews; eight grandchildren;five great grandchildren.
