Carleen Scott

Carleen Walker Scott, 52, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mrs. Scott was born on February 25, 1968 in Jamaica, W.I. to Brenton A. Walker and Ruth Brown. She was preceded in death by her sister, Zanijah Hopkins.

Survived by husband, James A. Scott and son, Canaan James Scott of Concord, NC, mother, Ruth Brown, father, Brenton A. Walker, second mother, Beryl Walker, seven step-children, sister, Roxanne Burke (husband Steve Burke, and children Zachari and Micah Burke), sister, Tamara Hopkins, and brother, Malik Hopkins and a number of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel.

Those of you that knew Carleen, knew she was a very special lady.  Feisty, outspoken, determined, kind, loving and the best mom and wife any man and child could ask for.  That’s what Canaan and I saw in her.  Yes, just like most if not all couples we had our moments but we love that woman and we know she loved us.  Canaan was her pride and joy, there was nothing she wouldn't do for him or I should say for us.

We’re sadden and heartbroken that you’re no longer with us but we have comfort in knowing that your 3-year fight through those tough times is no longer.  You’re finally at peace and in our father’s presence.  Thank you for giving us the privilege to share your precious life.  Be joyful my beloved… you’ll always be “My Boo”.
