Carlo Casey

Carlo (Shorty) Casey, 84, of Concord, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at his home in Concord surrounded by his loving family.

Shorty was born December 27, 1936, in North Carolina to the late Carlo Casey Sr. and the late Anna Casey.
He was also preceded in death by his 9 siblings.

The family will celebrate the life of Carlo at a private graveside service on Saturday at 11:00 am at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord, officiated by Pastor Allen Montgomery.

Shorty was a loving and faithful husband, father and grand-father and was known to be a godly man.  Shorty blessed all those who heard him with his God-given gift of music and song.  He was also a well-known residential painter until his retirement.  He was the son of a sharecropper and drove trucks all over the East coast for General Mills.  Shorty was an avid wood worker and specialized in working with furniture.

Survivors include wife, Ann Casey of Concord, NC; daughters, Sherry (Bill) Hinson of Concord, NC and Cathy (Doug) Freeman of Concord, NC and son, Richard (Michelle) Casey of Concord, NC.  He was also known as “Pawpaw” to 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County.  The family appreciates all the wonderful care that they provided!
