Carol Brooks

Carol Lane Brooks, 71 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle. Carol was born October 31, 1942 in Stanly County, NC to the late Walter Lee Brooks and Odessa Lillian Ledbetter Brooks. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Denise Furr; and brothers, Eugene Clyde Brooks and Jake Brooks. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 11 am on Wednesday at the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Jim Yow. The burial will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his granddaughter, Lillian Overcash; grandsons, Johnathan Forrest Furr, and Chase Spivey; great grandchildren, Laci Denise Overcash and Brayden Mark Overcash; stepchildren, Avery Whitley and Johnny Ray Vanhoy, Jr., and girlfriend, Margie Mills.
