Carolene Parker

Mrs. Carolene Love Parker, 78, a resident of Concord died on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Mrs. Parker was born June 11, 1932 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of Grovel Cordel Love and Pearlie Efird Love. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Connerd Love, Curtis Love, L.C. Love, and Gladice Nance. She is survived by her husband of 45 years John C. Parker, Jr., Surviving in addition to her husband is her sister Millie Gledhill and husband Thomas, her 3 daughters Mrs. Sandra Huneycutt and husband Sherril, Mrs. Debbie Tarlton and husband Layne, and Ms. Janet Lee Brattain. Carolene’s passion in life was her grandchildren Jamie Lee Ferguson, Jennifer Towner, Jeremy Tarlton, Jessica Oliver, Tammy Ridenhour, Wendy Vandenbosch, and her seven great-grandchildren. Carolene also greatly loved her mother-in-law and dog Patches. Carolene was a strong woman, always determined, and of the Baptist faith. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 7 until 9 PM. Funeral services will be held at Southside Baptist Church on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11 AM. Rev. Joey Morrison will officiate. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
