Carolyn Purser

Carolyn Marie Helms Purser, 71 of Union County passed away August 5, 2014 at 3612 East Brief Road Monroe, NC 28110.

Mrs. Purser was born August 28, 1942 in Monroe, NC to the late Martin L. Helms and Seena Adeline Baucom Helms. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gary Michael "Bud" Purser; brother, Joseph “Joe” Helms of Monroe; and sisters, Rachel McGee of Florida and Mary Helms of Monroe.

The family will received friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be at 11 am on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Shiloh Advent Christian Church, 3601 Sikes Mill Road in Monroe, with Rev. Travis Hutcheson and Rev. John Gallagher officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

At other times the family will be gathering at the Helms family homeplace, 3612 East Brief Road in Monroe.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Michael Purser of Monroe; two brothers, Jackson Helms and wife Merle, and Thomas Helms and wife Jonelle, both of Monroe; four sisters, Margaret Helms, Patricia Jenkins, Martha Helms and Husband, Roy, and Rebecca “Gail” Helms, all of Monroe; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
