Carolyn Simpson

Carolyn Geneva Springer Simpson, age 64 of Norwood, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at CMC-Mercy. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Thursday, August 23 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church, Hwy 138, Albemarle, at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 24, with a 30 minute state, officiated by Rev. Lee Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at her home, 33732 Rocky River Springs Road, Norwood. Mrs. Simpson was born in Stanly County on June 22, 1948. Her parents are Wilton Springer and Mary Morton Springer. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 41 years, Mahlon Lynn Simpson; two daughters, Stacey Harrington and her husband Daniel of Albemarle and Heather Rossi and her husband Matt of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Brad, Meredith, and Kelly Harrington, as well as, Avery and Barrett Rossi; three sisters, JoAnn, Elaine, and Lynette; eight brothers, Skippy, David, Terry, Jeff, Todd, Ernie, Rodney, and Chad.
