Cary Vernon Carpenter US Air Force Retired, 79, of 4204 Sandy Lane passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at his home. Born on November 07, 1930 in Anson County to the late Thomas Vernon and Mercedes Beachum Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter was a retired Master Sergeant with the US Air Force with 21 years of service to his country. He was a member of Azalea Masonic Lodge AF & AM in Dolphin Island, Alabama. The family meeting place will be the home. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 9:30 until 10:30 AM. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Military honors will be performed at graveside. Survived by; wife, Rosalind Carpenter of the home; son, Brand Carpenter and wife Beverly of Concord; daughter, Cynthia Halsey of Concord; grandchildren, Thomas Halsey, Aaron Halsey, Melissa Nguyen, Scott Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Jacob Halsey, Brayden Nguyen, Ethan Nguyen.
