"Casey" Wendy Gillis

"Casey" Wendy Sue Gillis, 59, of Oakboro, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at her home.

Ms. Gillis was born July 25, 1959 in Florida to the late Edward George and Shirley Kissinger Gillis. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Gary Gillis. Casey was the proud owner and cake genius of Nanni's Heart Cakes and Cookies.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Monday, April 1, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 12:00 pm, located at Hopewell Baptist Church, 420 Hopewell Church Rd. Monroe. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Casey is survived by; son, Mitchell Gillis and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Landon, Savannah Grace, Cason; brother, Glenn Gillis; significant other, Arthur Ranft.
