Cathryn Parker

Cathryn "Cathy" Marie Roberts Parker, 72 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle.

Cathy was born February 1, 1943 in Guilford County to the late Edwin Newton Roberts and Dorothy Esther Roberts.

Cathy graduated from Bethel High School in 1960. She then enrolled at Central Piedmont College in Charlotte and received her Associate Degree in Business and Administration. In 1981 she attended Stanly Technical College and received her Teacher Associate Degree. She later went back to Stanly Tech and received her Licensed Practical Nurse Degree.

Over the years, as her children grew, she applied her many traits to everyone that knew her. She was always willing to help in any way, and loved her family and friends very much. She loved her children and their families most of all.

In June of 1979 she became an Eastern Star Member and remained in good standing in the Midland Chapter #260, Order of the Eastern Star. She received her twenty-five year membership pin on June 18, 2004. All of her children and families were in attendance. She was a past matron three different times, and was happiest when she was with the "Stars".

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in the Hartsell Funeral Chapel in Midland.

Survivors include daughter, Rendee (Heath) Hunt of Stanfield; sons, Rodney (Paula) Tucker, Jr. of Locust, Rusty (Brandi) Tucker of Concord, and Rowdy Tucker of Stanfield; grandchildren, Matthew Tucker, Justin (Sarah) Tucker, Alisha Hopkins and fiancé, Cody Rutherford, Jeremy Hopkins, Destiny Hunt, Christopher Eudy, and Crystal (Bobby) Barbee; great-grandchildren, Isabella Rutherford, Leah Hunt, Samantha Barbee, Dillon Barbee, and Ashley Barbee.
