Chad McDonald Cook

Chad McDonald Cook, 44, of Murrells Inlet, SC, formerly of Albemarle, NC, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

Chad was born May 25, 1980, in Albemarle, NC. 

He is survived by his mother, Linda Spivey Cook of Murrells Inlet, SC; father, Grover McDonald Cook and wife, Cecelia Cook of Albemarle, NC; two daughters, Kelsey Lynn Cook and Olivia Jane Cook of Albemarle, NC; sister, Summer Nicole Cook of Richfield, NC; grandfather, Charles Douglas Spivey; nephew, Clint Harris; niece, Aubrey Caviness; one stepbrother; one stepsister; and special family friend, Donna Ivey. 

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Bessie Jane Spivey, Betty Jane Picker, and Doyle Cook.

Chad loved his family with his whole heart, especially his two beautiful daughters. He was at times hardheaded and had a spitfire way about him. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time boating, grilling, tinkering, learning how to fix things, and working in the garden. He also enjoyed cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Braves, and the NC Tarheels. 

A celebration of Chad's life will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Hartsell Funeral Home, 522 N. 2nd St., Albemarle, NC 28001. The family will greet friends from 12:00 - 1:00 pm prior to the service.
