Charles Lecel Alley, 75, of Concord, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 28, 2021.
Charles was born January 27, 1946 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Lecel I. Alley and the late Marion Cantrell Alley. Charles was also preceded in death by his son, Craig Matthew Alley.
Charles was a long-time corporate educator, developing and teaching leadership classes for Belk and bank of America. He graduated from Wofford College. He enjoyed writing and telling stories, ancestry research and traveling Charles was faithful, loving, considerate, generous, witty and funny. Most of all, Charles was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.
Survivors include beloved wife of 51 years, Mary Dickert Alley of Concord; son, Joel Alley and wife, Amy, of Charlotte; son, William Alley and wife, Christy, of Lewisville; grandchildren, Owen, Charlotte, Quinn and Laine Alley; brother, Manson Alley and wife, Sherry, of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Paul Alley and wife, Donna, of Lakeland, FL
The family will receive friends from 10:30 am - 11:45 am, Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church (Mallard Creek Campus), 13200 Mallard Creek Rd, Charlotte. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Dr. Kyler Smith. Charles will be laid to rest at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC. The family respectfully requests masks be worn during the visitation and services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hickory Grove Baptist Church (Mallard Creek Campus) or Turning Point Ministries (Broadcast Ministry of Dr. David Jeremiah).
