Charles Daugherty

Charles “Charlie” Theodore Daugherty, age 79, of Albemarle, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends at Prospect Baptist Church on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Stoney Benfield. Burial will be at Stanly Gardens of Memory. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Mr. Daugherty was born in Stanly County on October 17, 1932, to the late Roy Franklin Daugherty and the late Ruth Mae Mabry. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Truley Lorene Almond Daugherty, in 1999. He is survived by one daughter, Terrie Daugherty of Aberdeen; one sister, Lois D. McCorkle of China Grove; and a special friend, Flora R. Cranford of Albemarle. Mr. Daugherty was a veteran of the US Air Force.
