Charles Edward Davis, Jr. of New London, NC passed away on November 28, 2011. A service will be held graveside at the Weaver Cemetery, Bristol, TN on Thursday, December 1, at 12:00 pm. Family and friends will join for a celebration of his life on Saturday, December 3, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Albemarle, NC. Mr. Davis was born on May 31, 1940 in Morristown, TN to the late Charles E. Davis, Sr. and Mary Heath Craig Davis. Charlie, as he was known by many, earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from East Tennessee State University. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marthanne Bullock Davis, a sister, Judith Davis Sexton, and a brother, James Brakebill Davis, both of Houston, TX. His beloved family includes son Charles E. Davis III and wife Flora Hall Wood Davis of Burlington, NC and their daughters, Virginia Flora Hall and Marthanne Campbell Davis, son Randall Warren Davis and wife Elisabeth McKinney Davis and their sons, Hayden Charles and Bryce Walter Davis, of Matthews, NC, as well as nieces and nephews around the country. Charlie enjoyed a distinguished career in the pharmaceutical industry. Known for his quick wit, love of people, and deep faith, his departure will be felt by many. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Albemarle, 126 W.
