Charles Moore

Charles Blake Moore, 97 years of age, of Concord, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at home with his loving family by his side.

Charles was born April 25, 1919 in Anson County, NC to the late James Frank Moore and the late Connie Maude Phillips Moore. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sara Moore; grandson, Gary Dunlow; as well as his brothers, Paul Moore and John Crawford Moore.

Survivors include daughters, Ellen McDougal & husband, Dale of Cape Coral, FL and Patricia Ann Moore & husband, Bob Glynn of Richfield, NC; sons, Charlie Blake Moore of Minneapolis, MN and James C. Moore & wife, Ginger of Gastonia, NC; grandchildren, Bill, Scharla, Keith, Jimmy, Kasey, Andy and Brittany; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; nephew Tom Moore; as well as his cousin, Cropsie Bost.

Charlie proudly served under General George Patton during World War II in the United States Army. He lived an active and fulfilling life, where he enjoyed farming, bowling, dancing and being around his church family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jim Church of Roberta United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg with full military honors.
