Charles Propst

Charles Walter Propst, 80 years of age, of Concord, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at Universal Healthcare in Concord. Charles was born January 17, 1934 in Cabarrus County to the late Walter Lee Propst and the late Edna Edith Propst . He was also preceded in death by wife of 57 years, Betty Jean Propst. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 3:00 pm at McGill Avenue Baptist Church in Concord, officiated by Rev. Steve Ayers. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. Charles lived in Germany several years while he served his country in the US army. He retired from Handi-Clean Products where he was a sales manager for over 25 years. He loved his grandchildren and his family. Survivors include son, Charles "Chuck" Propst Jr. and wife Gwyn of Concord; daughter, Kelly Propst Doherty and husband Matt of Mooresville; son, Jimmy Dale and wife Lisa of Gastonia; six grandchildren, Tucker and Hattie Doherty, Lara and Dylan Propst, and Jason and Andy Dale; and sister, Sue Propst Ritchie of Concord.
