Charles Ward

Mr. Charles Edward Ward, 77, of 101 Valley Drive, Badin, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at his home. He was born on December 17, 1933 in Boston, Georgia to the late George and Ruby Ward. Mr. Ward was a member of Badin United Methodist Church and worked as a shift supervisor for Alcoa for 39 years. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM, following a 30 minute state, at Badin United Methodist Church with Rev. Laura Hamrick officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane Hooks Ward, of the home; sons, Frank Ward (Cindy), of Stoneville and David Ward, of Badin; daughter, Debbie Drye (Jeff), of Badin; brother, Emory Ward, of Tallahassee, FL; sisters, Louise Russell, Minnie Lou Nesbit, both of Badin, and Becky Bolick, of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Travis and Hunter Ward, Erin, Deva, Keelie, and Karman Ward, Nicholas Drye and Amy Sinclair; great granddaughter, Nicole Medlin.
