Charles Alfred "Chuck" Westberg, Jr., 93, of Stanfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Christmas morning, December 25, 2010. He was born September 21, 1917 in Menasha, WI, son of Charles A. Westberg, Sr. and Marie Pawer Westberg, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Stella Luljak Westberg; a daughter, Joann May Westberg; and brothers, Lt. Colonel Kenneth C. Westberg, Ret., and Brigadier General Leslie J. Westberg, Ret. He is survived by his three daughters, Janet Byington and husband, Tom of Longs, SC; Jeri Williams and husband, Jerry of Stanfield; and Jill Earnhardt of Mooresville, NC; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Chuck was a US Navy veteran serving our country in WWII aboard the USS Delta (AR9) and the USS Baham (AG71). He was employed by Milprint in Milwaukee, WI for many years. He was President of Stylecraft Packaging in Charlotte, NC and then retired from St. Andrews College in Laurinburg, NC, where he was Director of Plant Operations. A service to celebrate his life was held at St. Stephens Wesleyan Church in Georgeville, NC on Tuesday, December 28 with Pastor Gary Morris officiating.
