Cheryl Coffey Jolly

Cheryl Coffey Jolly, 77, of Harrisburg, NC, passed away on September 20, 2024 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on October 24,1946 in Jacksonville, Florida to Dorothy Targett McDonald and James Wesley Coffey. She graduated from R-S Central High School in Rutherfordton, NC in 1964. Cheryl graduated from Presbyterian Nursing School in 1967. Her role as a nurse included working in the ICU, Home Health, Public Health, and she retired as a nurse at the UNC Charlotte Health Center.

Later in adulthood, Cheryl reunited with her high school sweetheart Stephen, they were married, moved to Harrisburg, NC and had their only daughter, Amy.

Caring for others, whether as a nurse, or by always giving her time and resources to make sure friends and family shared great memories together was important to Cheryl. Her hobbies were a vital part of her life and included horses and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling and hosting parties with her husband Stephen. But the pastime most endearing to Cheryl was spending time with her grandkids.

Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Amy Frances Jolly (Ryan Kennedy), grandchildren Aubrey and Henry, sister Darla Ellison, brothers Tim Coffey (Wendy), and Dale Coffey, mother Dorothy McDonald, brother-in-law, Richard Jolly (Janet), sister-in-law Sandy Jolly, and family friends Patti and Scott Johnson, Mandy Robertson and Will Johnson. Cheryl was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 36 years, Stephen Jolly, father J.W. Coffey, brother Wesley Coffey, and brother-in-law Conway Jolly.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service will follow on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home's Jeff Hartsell Memorial Chapel in Harrisburg officiated by Chaplain Jonathan Allen. Burial will be private.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated caregivers who provided exceptional care and support to Cheryl: Patti Johnson, Brenda Wilcox, Levine Cancer Center, VIA Health Partners (Hospice of Charlotte).

Cheryl’s life was well lived and she is leaving those in her life with an abundance of cherished memories. She will be greatly missed.
