Christine Virginia Huneycutt, age 85 of 1500 Mountain Creek Road, Albemarle, passed away on July 26, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm, Thursday July 28, 2011 at Hartsell Funeral Home- Albemarle. Funeral services will be 11 am, Friday July 29, 2011 at Red Cross Baptist Church with a 30 minute state. The Reverends Garry Baker and Chris Fox will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At all other times the family will be meeting in the home. Born in Lincoln County to the late Gemes Forney and the late Nannie Catherine Ballard Williams on February 17, 1926, she was also preceded in death by her husbands; George Clarence Gardner, who was killed in WWII, and Thomas Lee Huneycutt; as well as two sisters, and one brother. Christine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was a member of Red Cross Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir as well as a member of the Senior Citizens. Currently she was attending Kendall’s Baptist Church and was a member of XYZ Senior Group. Mrs. Huneycutt is survived by three sons; Jim Huneycutt of Hartwell, GA, Tommy Huneycutt of Lincolnton, NC, Billy Huneycutt and wife Karen of Albemarle; one daughter, Brenda G. Henry and husband, Tom of Rockwell; five grandchildren, Harvey Jones, Jr., Cathy Jones, Brian Huneycutt, Danna H. Thompson and Casey Huneycutt and great grandchildren.
