Christine Oliver

Christine Biles Oliver, 95 years of age, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Carolinas ContinueCARE Hospital at Pineville in Charlotte.

Christine was born November 20, 1920 in Montgomery County to the late Robert Denny Biles and the late Lanta Morris Chandler. She was also preceded in death by husband, Richard Loomis Oliver.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home, 522 North Second Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Richard L. Haney, son-in-law will follow at 4:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at a later date at Stanly Gardens of Memory.

Survivors include three daughters, Dr. Lanta Christine (Gregory Rudolph) Oliver of Cambridge, MA; Linda O. (Dale) Thompson of Charlotte; Pamela O. (Richard) Haney of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren, Leah (Chris) Gaertner, Charlotte (John) Rippy, Emily (Mark) Davis, Harley Brown, Matthew Thompson, Joshua Thompson; and eight great grandchildren.

A registered nurse, Christine was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Rex Hospital School of Nursing. A kind, thoughtful, and loving individual, Christine was devoted to her family. She was a world class baker.
