Christopher Alan Barnhardt, 45, of Concord, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 at his home. The family will receive friends at Christopher’s shop, 2245 Wishon Rd., Concord, NC 28025, on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 12 until 2 pm, a graveside service will follow at his home. Christopher was born on November 1, 1967 in Cabarrus County, to Betty Jane Cook Barnhardt and the late George Edward Barnhardt. Christopher was a Master Taxidermist as well as a sculptor and painter with pieces on display at the Smithsonian Institute and Bank of America Stadium. He traveled the world and especially loved Africa. He enjoyed playing the banjo and farming. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Christina Whitley Barnhardt of the home; son, Joshua Barnhardt and wife Anna Harris Barnhardt; daughters, Samantha Shue and husband Brandan, Kristina Mae Barnhardt, and Kendyl Jane Barnhardt ; grandchildren, Michael Reily and Sophia Jane; mother, Betty Jane Cook Barnhardt; sisters, Beverly Miller, Kimberly Wilder of FL, and Debra Barnhardt; many nieces, nephews and good friends.
