Christopher Broadaway

Christopher "Mark" Broadaway, 48, of Oakboro, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in Norwood.

Mark was born September 22, 1973 in Cabarrus County to Gary Wayne Broadaway and Denise Morton Broadaway.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, February 4, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service to celebrate his life will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel.

In addition to his parents, Gary and Denise Broadaway, he is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Robyn Denise Johnson Broadaway; daughter, Ali Renee Broadaway; sisters, Jennifer (Gary) Hinson, Paige (Alex Smith) Broadaway; grandmother, Mildred Rushing Broadaway; special cousin, Scott Broadaway; best friends, Chris and Joey; his little dog, Harly; cat, Miracle; and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert Lee Broadaway; and maternal grandparents, Ray and Betty Morton.

Mark was the owner and operator of M & G Broadaway Logging, LLC. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, whether it be at the ocean, pond, or lake. He enjoyed getting out in his boat and would fish for hours. Mark also enjoyed hunting ducks, deer, and hogs all over the United States. He was also an avid clay pigeon shooter. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends and going to drag races. He spent the rest of his time with his beloved grandmother, whom he loved caring for. He had a laid back friendly demeanor and loved joking around with his many friends. Mark will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
