Clara Huneycutt

Clara Lee Huneycutt, 93, of Midland, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 at her home.

Clara Lee was born May 1, 1927 in Cabarrus County to the late Houston Theodore Hartsell and the late Carrie Jane Hinson Hartsell.  She was also preceded in death by husband, Claude Heath Huneycutt; sister, Edna Vick; brother, Carl Edward Hartsell; and brother, Conard Hartsell.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 10:45 am, Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at First Baptist Church, 320 S. Central Avenue, Locust.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary, officiated by Rev. Dr. Tommy Ross, Jr. and Rev. Dr. Kinney Wallace.  The burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Huneycutt and wife, Donna; daughter, Karen Hartsell and husband, Steve; son, Kendale Huneycutt and wife, Traci; 5 grandchildren, Jared Hartsell, Kema Arnder, Elizabeth Smith, Emily Huneycutt and Brandon Shull; five great-grandchildren, Madison and Josiah Smith, Haylee Furr, William and Wyatt Arnder.

Clara was a member of First Baptist Church of Locust.  She loved gardening and tending to her flowers.  Clara was a devoted wife and mother.  She dearly loved her family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Denise, Laura, Sheila, Alice, Bridgett, Emily, Margaret, Marlene, and the others that helped during this difficult time; and Hospice Of Stanly & The Uwharrie for all of their compassionate and loving care.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly or First Baptist Church of Locust.
