Clarence Barbee

Clarence Allen Barbee, 92, of Albemarle, NC passed away on May 25, 2011 at Stanly Manor in Albemarle. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 26 from 6-8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. At other times the family will meet at the home of his son Ronald, 24870 Fink Road, Albemarle. The service will be held Friday, May 27 at 11 AM at Canton Baptist Church, with a 30-minute state. Rev. Mark Mabry will officiate the services. Military Honors will be conducted by the Stanly County DAV. Mr. Barbee was born in Stanly County on September 18, 1918 to the late Silas and Bertie Mae Barbee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Smith Barbee. He was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Mr. Barbee is survived by his son, Ronald Barbee of Albemarle; grandchildren, Dean Barbee and wife Karen, Paula Crisco and husband Scott, Todd Barbee and wife Susanna; step-son, Kevin Russell of Albemarle; step-daughters, Karen Morris, Donna Ragsdale, both of Albemarle; sisters, Kathleen Bowers, Helen Burleson, both of Albemarle; and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Stanly County DAV, PO Box 12, Albemarle, NC 28002. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Barbee family.
