Clarence Lentz Lowder, Age 88 of 33426 Old Salisbury Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001 , passed away on January 21 , 2010 at Britthaven of the Piedmont in Albemarle . He was born in in Stanly County on March 15 , 1921 . Clarence Lentz Lowder was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Russell Lowder, his father John Houston Lowder and mother Eula Poplin Lowder. Also preceded in death by brothers Woodrow Lowder, Wilson Lowder, Marshall Lowder and sisters, Hattie Arey, Dora Lee Harwood, and Puah Whitley. He served on the USS LSMR 408 while serving in the US Navy during WWII . He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and an electrician for Wiscassett Mills for 47 years .. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 24 , 2010 from 06 : 00 PM 08 : 00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle . Funeral service will held on Monday, January 25 , 2010 at 11 : 00 AM at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel, 522 N . 2 nd Albemarle NC . with the ministers Rev . Sid Martin, Rev . Eddie Barbee officiating . Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park . Military honors graveside by Albemarle-Stanly County DAV Chapter 12. He is survived by his sons Calvin L . Lowder and wife Cedel of Albemarle NC, Donnie D . Lowder and wife Beverly of Albemarle NC, his sister Ruby Austin of Albemarle NC, grandchildren, Linda Griffin, Melanie Lowder, Chad Lowder, David Lowder, and Melissa Curlee and 4 great grandchildren.
