Claude Huneycutt

Claude Heath Huneycutt, 88 years of age, of Midland, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at his home.

Claude was born January 28, 1928 in Stanly County to the late David Arey Huneycutt and the late Roxie Ann Burgess Huneycutt. He was also preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at First Baptist Church, 320 S. Central Ave., Locust. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary, officiated by Rev. Dr. Tommy Ross and Rev. Dr. Kinney Wallace.The burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Clara Lee Hartsell Huneycutt of the home; sons, Kevin Huneycutt and wife Donna of Oakboro, Kendale Huneycutt and wife Traci of Locust; daughter, Karen Hartsell and husband Steve of Midland; sisters, Myrtle Hartsell, Cora Eudy, Virginia Hartsell; grandchildren, Emily Huneycutt, Elizabeth Smith, Jared Hartsell, Kema Hartsell, and Brandon Shull; and three great-grandchildren.

Claude was owner and operator of Huneycutt Tire and Towing. His joy in life was towing cars, which he did as long as his health would allow. He and his wife are both long standing members of Gideons International.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers, Marlene Barbee, Mckayla Poplin and Sarah Lawhon and Hospice of Cabarrus County for all of their compassionate and loving care.
