Claudette Guy

Claudette Elaine Guy, 80, of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Claudette was born on November 19, 1940 at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica to Lucille White and George Guy.

Claudette spent her childhood years living with her siblings,  Myrtle, Roy and Ruby at their grandparents home in Point Hill St Catherine, Jamaica.  They shared many stories of her escapades as a teenager, where she would sneak out of the house at night to go to parties.   She had no thought about the consequences of her actions when she was caught by her grandfather.  Claudette migrated to England in the late 60's and spent many years as a singer in England and Germany.  In early 1980's she migrated to the United States and lived in Florida and Georgia.  She became a trained nursing assistant and provided home care for the elderly.  Claudette was a very affectionate and caring individual who enjoyed entertaining family and friends.  She loved to cook and was affectionately called the  “seafood queen” by her family because of the fancy and tasty seafood dishes that she made.  She also enjoyed making jewelry that she gave as gifts to family and friends.  As she got older, and became ill, she continued to be active with her crafts. She even started knitting.  She was also very close to and loved her church family at Calvary Chapel at Deerfield Beach.   Wanting to be closer to family, Claudette moved to North Carolina on June 18.  However, the Lord decided to call her home after one week.  We cherish the time we had with her!

A Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, NC, officiated by Reverend Hattie Williams.  Webcasting for the Celebration of Life will start at 11:45 am at the following link: https://video.ibm.com/channel/drygeSYpxX7 .  There will also be a reception following the service.

Claudette will be greatly missed by her siblings, Myrtle, Roy, Valma and Theresa; nieces, nephews and her church family at the Calvary Chapel at Deerfield Beach, Florida.
