Claudie Burris

Claudie Harding Burris, 94 years of age, of Burris Road, Albemarle, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Stanly Manor in Albemarle.

Claudie was born December 24, 1921 in Stanly County to the late Aulsy Elias Burris and the late Huldah Morton Burris.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Fred Burris, Hattie Burris, Willie Almond, Bertha Burris.

He was married to Marie Harris Burris for 67 years, who lovingly took care of him at their home. He is also survived by his daughters, Diane Anderson and husband David of Albemarle, Debbie Tucker and husband Ronnie of Oakboro, Claudine Burris of Albemarle, Claudette Burris of Albemarle, four grandchildren, Dana Anderson Chaney and husband Kevin of Albemarle, Steve Tucker and wife Adie of Locust, Daniel Anderson and wife Abigil of Wichita, KS, Chris Tucker of Oakboro, seven great-grandchildren, Cody Tucker, Connor Tucker, Jonah Chaney, Jaxon Tucker, Lois Chaney, Laney Tucker, Matthew Chaney.

Claudie was a devoted family man and a brick mason by trade. He also enjoyed playing the guitar with his many friends and loved ones in the community. He will be missed by all.

The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 3 pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church 22182 Canton Rd., Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3 pm in the church sanctuary, officiated by Elder Eddie Fowler, Elder Ted Morton, and Elder David Anderson. The burial will be in the church cemetery.
