Clayton Sasser

Clayton Willie Sasser, age 82, of Stanfield, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Stanly Regional Medical Center. . The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle, Wednesday, January 18 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 19 at 11:00 AM at Philadelphia Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Dwight Mabry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at the home of his son, Wayne Sasser, 29013 Jordan’s Pond Drive, Albemarle, NC. All are welcome to come by and visit with the family. Mr. Sasser was born in Stanly County on October 31, 1929, to the late Willie Daniel Sasser and the late Mamie Lee Huneycutt Sasser. His wife, Dean Teeter Sasser, preceded him in death in 1993. He is also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by a son, Wayne Sasser and and wife, Nancy; a daughter, Diane Robinson and husband Clif; grandchildren, Sherry Adcock, Kelly Kimrey, Shane Robinson, Cameron and Chase Sasser; great-grandchildren, Nate, Jaxon, James, Anna, and twins, Lizzie and Maddie. The Sasser family would like to express their deepest thanks to all of the friends and loved ones who had been so attentive and caring over the past few years.
