Clayton Stegall

Clayton Henry Stegall, 81, of Marshville, NC, passed away February 9, 2013 at his home. Born February 23, 1931 in Union County, NC he is the son of the late Tommy Stegall and the late Alice Purser Stegall. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Retty Lucille Hinson Stegall, in 2011, and his daughter, Kathy Arnold in 2013. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Chapel, Midland. Rev. John Miller will officiate and the burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 7002 Pleasant Hill Church Road, Marshville, NC 28103. Mr. Stegall is survived by his son, Randy Stegall and wife Rose and grandsons, Ritchie and Joe Stegall, all of Marshville, NC; daughter, Pamella Simpson and husband Arthur and their daughter, Nicholl, all of Charlotte; granddaughter, Maggie Long, daughter of the late Kathy Arnold; sister Shirley Adams of Matthews; and 8 great grandchildren. He was a weaver in the textile industry. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28207.
