Cletus Curlee

Cletus Vance "Pee Wee" Curlee, 85 years of age, of Aquadale, left his earthly home to go to his heavenly home Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle.

Mr. Curlee was born November 8, 1930 to the late Claude and Cora Curlee. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Clayton Curlee. Cletus was an active and faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church serving as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, Baptist Men's Leader, and choir member. This was apparent by his role as a spiritual leader for his family. He believed that Sunday dinner with his family was very important and mandated that all came. Pee Wee will be remembered as a great gardener that loved to share his harvest with his family and friends, this was his labor of love.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, June 17, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 32283 Bethlehem Church Road Norwood, officiated by Rev. Lowell Brown, Rev. Mark Little and Larry Coley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include wife of 65 years, Annie Lee Thompson Curlee; son, J.V. and wife Connie Curlee; daughters, Judy and husband Jerry Helms, Lucinda and husband Larry Coley; grandchildren, David and wife Angie Curlee, Joni and husband Jared Floyd, Chris and wife Meika Helms, Dustin and wife Kristen Helms, Melissa and husband Chad Glover, Andrew and wife Casey Coley; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Willie and wife Sybil Curlee
