Cliney Rushing

Cliney Atlas Rushing, 93 years of age, of Monroe, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at Monroe Manor.

Cliney was born April 5, 1923 in Union County to the late John Atlas Rushing and the late Malissa Jane Benton Rushing. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Monday, April 25, 2016 at Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Travis Hutcheson and Rev. Billy Mobley, will follow in the church sanctuary at 3:00 pm. The burial will be in the church cemetery, with full military honors conducted by the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard and New Salem Post 440.

Cliney was the owner of Cliney's Hair Styling of Monroe. He honorably served his country during WWII in the United States Army. He was a member of New Salem American Legion Post 440. Cliney was a faithful member of Shiloh Advent Christian Church.
