Clinton Harkey

Mr. Clinton Ray Harkey, 76, of Brush Creek, TN and formerly of Locust, NC, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 7 from 2-4 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle with the funeral at 4 PM. The burial will follow at Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Locust, NC. Mr. Harkey was born in Stanly County on April 22, 1935 to the late Daniel and Dora Bell Burris Harkey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred and Theodore Harkey. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church. After retiring from Enterprise Rendering Co. in Oakboro, NC, he and his wife move to Middle Tennessee to be near his only daughter and grandchildren. He worked part-time for Mueller Industries in Carthage. He attended the Lebanon First Presbyterian Church for the past eleven years. Mr. Harkey is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Aileen Lambert Harkey; daughter, Tammy Harkey Cagle of Antioch, TN; two grandchildren, Wesley and Courtney Cagle of Antioch, TN; sisters, Shirley Paige of Locust, Beulah Sides of Albemarle, Frances Tucker of Lakeland, FL; brothers, Junior Harkey of Concord, Grady Harkey of Albemarle, and Bill Harkey of Evington, VA. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Harkey family.
