Clyde Crayton

Clyde Lee Crayton, 84, of 4239 Renee Ford Road, Stanfield, died August 19, at CMC Northeast, Concord. He was born June 18, 1925 in Stanly County. The service was Saturday, August 22, at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church, 4311 Love Mill Road, Stanfield, where he was a member. Dr. Darrell Nance and Rev. Don Jordan officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Graveside rites were performed by Stanly County DAV Chapter 12. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy. He was a carpenter and formerly employed by Elrod Construction in Charlotte. Survivors; daughter, Delaine Morton and husband, Richard; son, Tim Crayton and wife, Ava; sister, Lona Yow all of Stanfield; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Earl Virginia Yow Crayton; father, John Nelson Crayton; mother, Gertie Lou Hinson Crayton; son, Garry Crayton; and four brothers.
