Clyde Dunn

Clyde William Dunn, Sr. 88 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at his home.

Clyde was born November 24, 1925 in Stanly County to the late Grover Dunn and the late Telia Mason Dunn Maidson. He was also preceded in death by his son, Billy Sides; brother, Earnest Dunn; and sisters, Bertha Cotton and Ethel Simpson.

Clyde proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He retired as a mechanic at Burris Tire. He loved animals and planting in his garden.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, October 18 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Garry Baker and Rev. Jerry Crisco, will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Lakeview Baptist Church, 32496 Pennington Road, Albemarle. The burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main Street, Albemarle, NC with full military rites being conducted by the Stanly County DAV. At other times the family will be meeting at the home.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Bonnie Smith Dunn of Albemarle; sons, Clyde William Dunn, Jr. and Joseph Freeman, both of Albemarle; daughters, Carol Dunn, Telia Dunn, Cristy Smith and husband, Brian all of Albemarle, and Ann Cicale and husband, Don of Florida; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
