Clyde Furr
September 22, 1947 — March 19, 2015
Clyde Monroe Furr, 67 years of age, of Concord, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Mr. Furr was born September 22, 1947 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Daniel Walter Furr and the late Margaret Louise Furr.
He was also preceded in death by his brother Raymond Furr.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Williams Furr of the home; son, Justin Ingram and wife, Shannon of Richfield; daughter, Amanda Whaples and husband Robert of Concord; brothers, William Houston "JR" Furr of Concord, Everette Furr of Winston-Salem; grandsons, Jackson and Lucas Ingram.
Mr. Furr served his community as Deputy Sheriff of Cabarrus County for 20 years. He also worked for nearly 20 years in sales with Hendrick Toyota Scion of Concord. He never met a stranger and truly enjoyed serving the public.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, March 20, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord, officiated by Rev. Scott Keith of Newell Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Newell Baptist Church, 9115 Newell Baptist Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28213.
