Clyde Hathcock (Buck)

Clyde Allen Hathcock (Buck), 86, of Concord, passed away Monday February 10, 2020 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Mr. Hathcock was born May 20, 1933 in Stanly county, North Carolina to the late Ted Robert Hathcock and the late Ruth Estelle Compton. He was also preceded in death by brother, Robert Henry Hathcock.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, February 13, 2020 at New Grace Baptist Church. The funeral service will be on Friday at 1:00 pm at New Grace Baptist Church in Concord officiated by Rev. Allen Montgomery. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis at Hwy 29N at I85, Exit 58, Concord.

Survivors include wife, Shirley Ann Hathcock of Concord NC; son, Wayne Alexander Hathcock (Gwen) of Concord, NC; son, Allen Ray Hathcock of Concord, NC; daughter, Ann Hathcock Rich (Billy) of Harrisburg, NC; daughter Brenda Hathcock Brown (Kelly) of Concord NC; sister, Doris Lee Tucker, of Albemarle; grandchildren:  Franklin Hathcock, Luke Hathcock, Hannah Hathcock, Joseph Rich, Aaron Brown, Benjamin Brown, Samuel Rich, Ruth Hathcock, and Sarah Rich.

Clyde honorably served from 1953-1955 in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. Clyde worked over 40 years at Cannon Mills as a machinist. He served as a deacon for over 50 years at Bright Light Baptist Church and New Grace Baptist Church. He taught Sunday School, drove the church van, and played musical instruments at church. He was an avid gardener, active in Rock of Ages prison ministry for 13 years and loved to serve his family and those in the community.
