Clyde Adolphus Ridenhour, 89, of New London, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022 under Community Care Hospice at Atrium Health Stanly Hospital in Albemarle.
Clyde was born November 26, 1933 in North Carolina to the late Adam Henderson Ridenhour Sr. and the late Ida Gladys Misenheimer.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Walter Elwood, Adam Henderson Jr.; sisters, Mae Bell Helms, Lorene Cook, Betty Blackwelder and Dorothy Shaver.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Thursday at 2:00 pm at New Bethel Lutheran Church in Richfield officiated by Rev. Judy Drysdale. Burial will follow at the New Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery at 21746 Rogers Road, Richfield.
Clyde was a wonderful son, husband, father, grand and great-grandfather. He was married to his wife Julia for 65 years. Clyde retired from American Circuit Breaker Corp after 18 years of dedicated service. His favorite job was working with Bud Hinson at Bud's Bodacious Barbeque and Catering. Most of all, Clyde loved his church and his family. Clyde's lifelong motto was "Love thy neighbor", as he emulated the life of his Lord and Savior.
Survivors include wife, Julia Burleson Ridenhour; daughter, Joy and Robert Ridenhour Brown; grandchildren Pressley Adam Brown and Caroline Elizabeth Brown; great-grandchildren, Jayden Adam Brown and Aleah Elizabeth Brown.
