Constance Cahoon

December 21, 1929 — August 4, 2021

Connie was born on December 21, 1929 in Fall River, Massachusetts to the late John Wesley Heyworth and the late Eva Mae (Briggs) Heyworth.

After graduating from B. M.C. Durfee High School in 1948, she was employed at the Fall River Knitting Mills. She married the late Vernon Joseph Cahoon  in 1955 and became co-owner of Cahoon's Florist and Greenhouses in Westport, Massachusetts where she was the principal floral designer. Her floral designs were well known and appreciated in the local area. Her other artistic interests included drawing and oil painting. She enjoyed world travel and was Past Matron of the Cortez Allen Chapter 161 of the Eastern Star in Westport. She was also a member of the Westport United Congregational Church. Connie provided a loving home to a wide variety of beloved pets over the years including horses, ducks, geese, numerous cats and dogs and finally, Emily, her beloved Boston Terrier. After retiring, she moved to Concord, North Carolina to live near her son and his family. In Concord, she greatly enjoyed participating in activities with her many friends at the Coltrane Life Center and Saint Andrew's Assisted Living Center.

Connie is survived by her children, Vernon John Cahoon and wife, Lori and Coral Dawn Sadeck and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Joshua (Kate), Keith (Lisa), Jacob (Jen), Sarah, Amber (Jason), Holly, and Avery; great-grandchildren, Jack, Anna, Avery, Liam, and Ariyah.

The Cahoon family would like to express their profound appreciation for the excellent care Connie received at St. Andrew's Assisted Living Center from the dedicated staff there.
